So the other night, I was driving home from school. I was listening to radio just thinking about all the things I needed to do. The DJ comes on and says that Yellowcard tickets are still on sale, and the concert is next Tuesday! So I think to myself....I need to call Alicia (my little sister). She would love to come down and see Yellowcard with me. Then the DJ says that if you call right now, you could win two free tickets! Now, if you have ever tried to win anything on the radio, they never answer the phone or else it's busy. I thought I would try! It was busy the first few times, and then it rang. I WON!!! So last night, I enjoyed a free concert with my little sister. Good times!

Ode to the Best husband ever!
After a long day at teacher inservice, I went home (to Chubbuck) to practice for the primary program (I'm the primary accompanist). I got home at 5 and went to the church at 5:30 til 7:30. When I came out of the church, there was a little post it note on my car that said, "I can't wait for you to come home! love-your hubby" I thought....oh, that's thoughtful! What a great guy...but it didn't stop there. When I pulled into the driveway, I saw another little note on the front door. "Welcome home my wife!" By now, I'm thinking...."Wow! He's good!" However, I was completely blown away, when I walked in the door!

There were only candles lighting the entire living room, and he had the table set for dinner. He had gone to Applebee's and picked up fiesta lime chicken (which I love).

So we ate dinner by candlelight and hung out together, but then.....there was one more surprise! He bought the Sugarland CD for me! What a great husband! I always knew I was lucky, but this just served as a great reminder! Thanks Miles! I love you!

All-You-Can-Eat Shrimp
Well, I don't love seafood much, and I'm allergic to shellfish so I can't say that I love eating at a seafood restaurant. However, since I re-discovered that I have the best husband ever, and he LOVES seafood.....we went to Red Lobster on Saturday for all you can eat shrimp. I order a grilled chicken breast, but everyone else at the table had shrimp.

The Excitement at our house!!
This week (end) had way too much excitement. We decided to go camping again, because the fall colors were getting beautiful. Being outdoors, it seems like we get to enjoy so much more! This time, we drove up "Powerhouse" (for you Malad folks) or Mill Canyon (for the people over the other side of the mountain). We enjoyed food and books for a majority of the weekend, until Saturday night, when Miles decided to see how well flat nails go into your feet. After a quick trip to Downey (for Nurse Milissa to look at his foot), we decided he was going to make it. We still got to stay the night in the tent.....but it wasn't a pretty sight!
If you look closely, you can see the two holes in the middle of his foot! Sad, huh?!

Flashbacks...
So for those of you who don't know....Miles and I dated several times in our "younger" years. Since there are a few years between us, it never seemed to work out just right. However, in those years of dating, we frequently hiked up Cherry Creek's New Canyon Trail. (Miles was a young 16, and I was 20.) We got a crazy idea to carve our initials in the tree once. Last weekend, while camping up Cherry Creek, we hiked up that same trail. Guess what we found! MJ + TR '01 It seems like all those years ago, we knew that we were going to be together, but we both had a lot of living to do before that!

The State Fair....
Saturday didn't have too many important plans, and it was the last day of the Eastern Idaho State Fair. So, off we went!! We enjoyed quite the day! We checked out exhibits, ate fair food, chatted with Brad (Miles' brother-in-law) and watched the hypnotist! Just a few pics, while we are waiting for the hypnotist show to start!

Rained Out.....
Over the Labor Day holiday, Miles and I decided to go camping together. Now--we have been camping for reunions and other events, however, this time we were trying it on our own! We arrived, pitched the tent (yes-we were roughing it!), and set up camp. Since it was the holiday most of the campgrounds in America are full. So we were camping up "Cherry Creek", which has no running water and an outhouse. Needless to say, we had a 5 gallon jug for water, and some quality hand sanitizer. We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly Friday night and Saturday. In the evening, Miles sister, Milissa brought her children up and we played games and roasted marshmallows and such. When Saturday night came, I heard a few rain drops in the middle of the night. I didn't really stress too much about it. At 4 am, I could hear quite a bit of rain, and then I hear Miles come shooting out of his sleeping bag. He decided it was raining too hard and most of our things were just sitting out on the table. We made it through the night though....and Sunday we woke up a little later in the day. Buddy (Miles' dad) came up to see if we wanted to go choke cherry picking.....so we did. The rain held up while we were picking berries, and we went back to camp. Then the rain came.......and it RAINED! and RAINED! So we waited in the tent reading our books and thinking about how the storm would pass. It didn't pass!! :( While reading, we heard something that sounded like a cow. Miles gets up and unzipped the tent to find a herd of cows invading our camp. We must be in Idaho or something! So it was still raining, and we decided that we weren't going to ride out the storm. We drove to Downey and stayed with his parents because the rain was soaking everything! We picked out things up the next morning and went home to Chubbuck. The laundry is finally finished and the tent is finally dry.....so maybe we'll go camping again!
