The South Bannock County Fair

I love this time of year.  Growing up in a small town, I had the chance to go to the fair every year.  It wasn't until I was a teenager (working at Downata Hot Springs) that I realized the South Bannock County Fair was a big deal.  It's in Downey, which is not a big town by stretch of the imagination (I think there are about 650 people there, if you include family pets).  Then I married an amazing man who comes from Downey and I guess it will be a tradition from here on out to attend the South Bannock County Fair (also known as the Downey Fair).  So--a few pictures from the annual Downey Parade.....Enjoy!

Under the Big Top

The Chamber of Commerce in Malad decided to bring a circus to town.  They talked it up and made sure that we all thought it was going to be excellent.  It was $9 per adult ahead of time, or $12 at the door.  We made sure to purchase our tickets in advance, so we could save $6.  Maybe we should have just gone to grandma's house and seen her cats and dogs.  It might have been just as much adventure, and it would have been free.  However, we did it.  Bentley has officially seen his first circus and I'm not sure that he was impressed!
Here is the Big Top view.  (Yes, we are in the middle of the field near the Malad Greenbelt.)

Before the show, Bentley was all smiles.
Yeah....a clown on stilts.....clever, huh?
We will just call it Bentley's first circus, and leave it at that.  Ha ha.

Pioneer Day

Or in other words, a day to hit the reservoirs!
Loading the boat with precious cargo!
Montana--"The Master Tuber"
This water thing is awesome!

After spending the day on the water, we headed into Preston to watch the 24th of July fireworks.  Bentley was completely amazed at them, but we could get a good picture of him actually looking at the fireworks. He was distracted by the flash.

Thanks Uncle Layne and Aunt Melissa for inviting us!!  We had a great time!

First "Real" Campout

Setting up the "new" tent.  (Brad and Milissa sold us their old one)

Mostly, we followed Bentley around picking up sticks.  But we had a great time!

And in mention of the lost parents of this child.....we still exist, but he is so much more fun to take pictures of!

A Month of Celebration

Miles's Birthday is July 8 and Bentley's is the 14th.  But don't forget that on the 5th---we have an anniversary!  We just celebrate the whole month long!
That's right....all 25 candles!

Got them all!

A grill cover for his new grill.....

Grey's Anatomy Season 1
and the best present of all......GLEE Season 1!!

Now on to Bentley's Birthday....we had a Mickey party at the city park.  It's hard to believe that my baby is 1.....I don't know where the time went.  He was completely spoiled by everyone!

First birthday treat....lick the beaters from the cake!

The table full of gifts!

The birthday cake!

Blowing out the candle.....yeah...didn't really get that.

Everybody else got cupcakes!

Bentley got a toy cell phone and he would have been happy with just that.  He wanted to play with nothing else.

First bite.....(Had to get the clothes off after this shot)

Final Product.....
