Christmas Day 2011

I always love when Christmas falls on a Sunday, because we actually get to celebrate the reason for the season.  He can't possibly be forgotten when we attend church and learn more about him on Christmas Day.  So, we got up early on Sunday morning and Bentley saw that Santa brought him a train table complete with trains.  He was so excited to play for a while and he didn't even notice the presents under the tree.  So we just got ready for church and left the presents there.

We went to church together as a family (and they only had sacrament meeting).  So then we went to my parents house to do Christmas there.
Bentley got a "John Deere Twactor" from Uncle Layne and Aunt Melissa.  He can't get enough!  He also got a Tot Spot Basketball hoop, legos, and way to much candy.  What a great Christmas it was!

As a side note, when we went to church we noticed that we matched very well.  When we got home, we stepped out back and took some family pics.  They didn't turn out too awesome, but whatever.  Enjoy!

Christmas Eve with the whole Jones Family

Bentley opening his Christmas present from Papa Buddy and Grandma Bonnie.  Thomas the Train Sets, Molly and Spencer with tenders.
No pictures, but Bonnie gave me a Cuddlebug and Miles got a movie night basket.

After we opened presents at Miles's parents house, then we headed to the Downey Senior Center for the annual Christmas Eve party.  Tucker and Bentley in their matching outfits, racing across the floor.
Bentley making a powdered donut snowman!  An excellent kids' craft!

Dad socializing with the family.

After the party at the Jones'.  We went home to celebrate Christmas Eve with my family.  Layne and Melissa, Skylar and Shelby, and Alicia and Travis met my parents at our house.  We socialized for a while, and then Skylar and Shelby opened their gifts.  Layne, Melissa, Alicia, and Travis stayed at our house on Christmas Eve.
Here's Bentley, opening the traditional Christmas Eve pajamas.
Aunt Sheesha reading the new John Deere Tractor book from Uncle Layne and Aunt Melissa.

The Lights on Temple Square

A must capture moment on Temple Square, especially with the lights.
One of the best pictures I have ever taken!  I could hang that on my living room wall!

The North Pole Express

Bentley is in LOVE with trains.  He is almost obsessed, so when I heard about the "North Pole Express" I had to get tickets.  Here's Bentley before boarding, with his ticket in hand.
A photo that I just could not pass up...
Waiting to board...
Our assigned train car...
Riding the train....He had that surprised look almost the whole train ride!

When you get to the "North Pole", Santa gets on the train and gives every child a bell. (If you've read the book, "The Polar Express" then you know why Santa would hand out bells.)
When we finished our train ride, we hopped in our car and headed towards Salt Lake.  We booked a hotel room and planned to see the Christmas lights on Temple Square.
